Goals
The leaders of the Future City Competition for the State of Illinois want to reach more school and students in the state-wide competition. The video was part of an overall campaign deployed over nine months prior to the actual competition. Watch the video here.
Feeding Future Cities was a hot concept for these sixth, seventh and eighth graders competing at the University of Illinois winter contest despite the record cold temperature outside. The Future City Competition is part of the National Engineers Week Foundation and the parent organization of the Future City Competition.®
Together they meet a vital need: introducing students, parents, and educators to engineering, engaging them in hands-on engineering experiences, and making science and math relevant. The Foundation and coalition are actively putting the E in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education).
Summary
The State of Illinois competition exceeded its record with the largest number of teams registered in the 23nd year of the Illinois competition-nearly 50 middle school teams. There was an increase of 10% more schools who registered from the previous year’s competition. Golden Square serves as the Marketing, PR and Media relations firm to the State of Illinois Competition.
