Mary Crane Center Announces Its 2019 Annual Benefit

CHICAGO Mary Crane Center announces its 2019 Annual Benefit, “Hatching Chicago’s Future through Early Childhood Education,” will be held at The Hatchery located at 135 N. Kedzie, Chicago, IL on Sat., Oct. 12, 2019, from 3:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M.

Funds raised through the 2019 Annual Benefit support Mary Crane Center’s work providing high-quality early childhood education programs for communities in need. These funds are needed to continue parent support programs, community workforce development, ongoing professional development for staff and enrichment.

Featured speakers include Ms. Maria Gonzalez of the Chicago Department of Family & Support Services and special guests from the Mary Crane Center community. Two Sisters Catering, a local women-owned business headquartered at The Hatchery, is providing the catering for the event.

This event includes a live concert by the Metropolis Oboe Quartet, an engaging, interactive chamber group that brings high energy performances filled with memorable melodies and lush harmonies that redefine chamber music for a new age. Metropolis Oboe Quartet has previously performed at City Winery, the Morton Arboretum and live on WFMT.

The Hatchery is an innovative incubator space for local food and beverage entrepreneurs.  This nonprofit center creates sustainable economic growth by helping entrepreneurs grow successful food and beverage businesses, offering job training and placement opportunities to residents of the West Side of Chicago. Tours of the Hatchery will be available at the event.

The Mary Crane Center promotes the comprehensive early development of children through school-readiness programs, personal enrichment activities, and family support services. In 1908, Jane Addams started the Mary Crane Day Nursery at Hull House, after receiving a donation of a building from Richard Teller Crane in memory of his late wife. Today, Mary Crane Center serves about 500 children in the Chicago communities in need at sites in Rogers Park, West Lakeview, Austin, and West Garfield Park and six strategic partnership locations associated with the Archdiocese of Chicago, and Chicago Public Schools.
